We are pleased to announce that Dr. Nancy Holekamp’s Medical Mission to La Gonave, Haiti, sponsored and organized by Lifelong Vision Foundation, was a success! Jerry and Sonja Dickherber operate a mission site on the island of La Gonave and were excited when Dr. Holekamp expressed a desire to accompany them on one of their mission trips this year.
Dr. Holekamp brought her two children as well as her sister, Susan Davis, on the mission. While in Haiti, Dr. Holekamp was able to see nearly 400 individuals for vision screening and refraction tests. “The looks on the people’s faces when they put on glasses and could see clearly was just incredible,” says Sonja Dickherber.
In addition to the 300 pairs of glasses distributed during the mission, 700 pairs of glasses were left behind for others. We at Lifelong Vision Foundation would like to extend our thanks to all of you who helped make this mission possible by donating equipment and glasses, and by loaning equipment:
